What a retwist is and why it matters

A loc retwist is the maintenance appointment. New hair grows in at the root and sits loose rather than as part of the loc. A retwist works that new growth back into each loc so the roots are neat, the partings clean and the locs keep their shape as they grow.

Regular loc maintenance is about more than tidiness. Working the roots properly helps each loc mature evenly, stops sections merging where you do not want them to, and lets us check the condition of your hair and scalp. How often you should come in depends on your hair, your growth and how you like to wear your locs, so we will advise you rather than hand you a rule.

A Loc Retwist starts from £40. If you want them styled once the roots are done, a Loc Retwist + Style starts from £55.

Starter locs, and choosing how to begin

Starter locs are the very first stage: taking loose hair and forming it into sections that will, with time and care, mature into locs. There is more than one way to begin, and each method suits different textures, lengths, end goals and levels of upkeep.

That is why we choose the method together. Tell us what you have in mind and we will talk through what will work for your hair before anything starts. Starter Locs are priced from £60, and we will give you a clearer figure once we have seen your hair.

Loc styling

Once your locs are established, styling is where they get to show some personality. Loc Styling starts from £15 as a stand-alone service, for when your roots are fine but you want something different for an event or simply a change.

How loc pricing works

Every loc service is a “from” price, because no two heads of locs are the same. Final price may vary depending on hair/loc length, density and the amount of work required.
